I have worked as a Canine Behaviour Counsellor since 1994 and have been based in the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire area since 2000. Many of my cases are referred to me by local veterinary surgeons and welfare organisations.
Following a period of training with the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors I spent three years as apprentice to a qualified Behaviour Counsellor during which time I was co-proprietor of a large boarding kennels and cattery in South Derbyshire.
I bred, trained and exhibited Bullmastiffs for twenty years and was involved with Bullmastiff Welfare, carrying out behavioural work with this particular breed throughout the UK. I now breed, train, work and exhibit Spanish Water Dogs and have co-written a breed specific book which is recognised as the definitive work on the breed outside of the country of origin. I am National Coordinator for Spanish Water Dog Rescue and work throughout the UK with dogs of this breed.
I have been running training classes in the Forest of Dean since 2001 and have written a book on puppy rearing and training which is sold in Pets at Home throughout the UK as well as related outlets in the United States and Australia.
I have worked with Teckels Animal Sanctuary and the Cheltenham Animal Shelter for several years, advising on the training and rehabilitation of dogs in their care.
